Ringing It

May 6th, 2008 by Brandon Leave a reply »

I never realized how hard it is to pick out a wedding ring. All design-issues aside, Miss Possible’s engagement ring was fairly easy — as she was the one that had to struggle with the style decisions for a ring that she’ll wear forever.

I never really had to do that.. until this weekend. It was frustrating — looking at all the styles that looked practically identical. I finally found something nice and unique — and of course unique usually means more expensive than originally planned. Still, I went to pick it up today — and we’re in business.

One less thing on the list — and only a few weeks left to go now! Wowzahs.

It’s been almost two years and I’m still not sure how I feel about my ring. I couldn’t make up my mind when we went looking, so I chose a ring that has a yellow gold band surrounded by a white gold band. But both have ridges and edges which cut and slice my face if I try to wash my face while wearing it. And it’s a bit too big, so one time at a restaurant, while washing my hands in the men’s room, I was shaking the water off and the ring went flying off my finger. It ping-ponged all over the one-person restroom, so luckily I was able to grab it before it landed in any holes or drains. Moral of the story: choose your ring carefully, young paduan.
